Naked Yoga and Breathwork With Candice

Join us for Naked Yoga & Breathwork! Candice will lead the class through a few inward and outward (community building) connection practices, followed by a vinyasa flow sequence to ground us in our bodies. We will then move deeper into the breathwork, ending with a restorative Savasana. A few minutes to share as a community any feelings or experiences at the end will be welcome. Group participation is not required, just available if it feels right for you.
Breathwork can be a natural way to shift our consciousness and go deeper into our inner selves for awareness and healing. The breathwork portion of class can illicit all kinds of powerful experiences, emotions, sensations and possible revelations, though having a mild experience is also common. All of you is welcome!
We will have our usual snacks & social time afterwards. This class is for all levels, with appropriate modifications offered for anyone who needs or wants them. Mats and towels are provided. Exact entry instructions will be sent by email with ticket confirmation. If you do not see the email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for access instructions. Doors will open at 7:20 and close at 7:40. If you are late you will not be allowed entry. Bring a snack to share if you like!
7:20 – doors open, clothed mingling
7:40 – doors closed, brief preamble, disrobing
7:50 – just naked yoga & breathwork, led by Candice
8:50 – yoga ends, socializing with light snacks and beverages
9:30 – event ends, attendees depart

Candice is a yoga teacher and healer from Texas living and thriving in NYC. With over a decade of teaching and practicing yoga, she is still constantly humbled by the remarkable teachings, insights and delights yoga and body awareness practices can bring. She is a 300+hr trained yoga teacher, 600 hr Yoga Therapist and Certified Sexological Bodyworker. She has taught Ashtanga-inspired Vinyasa, Prenatal and Postnatal styles. Yoga ultimately led her to discover Tantra, which inspired her to create her own modality, Naked Yoga Therapy. Naked means more than nudity to her; it’s a way to embrace vulnerability, honesty and living more from one’s core values. A textile free yoga practice can illuminate and allow freedom from shame in our bodies, allowing us to access more body confidence and can bring us closer and more connected to our shared humanity, recognizing how we are more similar than different.
Erections: Men, if you feel yourself getting an erection, please know that this is a very normal bodily function; however, we are trying to uncouple and distinguish the difference between nudity and explicit sexuality (and yes, it’s possible!). We ask that you become aware of your arousal, take a moment to yourself to celebrate the fact you are human and then to please excuse yourself until your fire cools. We don’t want to shame any erections, but want to be respectful to others in the group.
