The Wheel of Consent is a powerful practice to improve the quality of your relationships and create clear agreements so you can experience satisfying connection to yourself and with others. It is simple, subtle, and profound.

When you engage with another – whether it is a friend, partner, family member or colleague – are you doing what they want you to do, or what you want to do? Understanding ‘who it is for’ when we take action is vital in creating a sense of safety, trust, and connection. Have you ever had an experience where someone offered to do something for you, but it felt like it was actually for them? How did that feel in your body?

The Wheel of Consent takes apart what we generally understand of ‘giving’ and ‘receiving’ and distinguishes between ‘who is doing’ and ‘who it is for’. With this distinction, two distinct aspects of GIVING and two distinct aspects of RECEIVING open up. When we take apart and experience each of these four aspects independently, we discover parts of ourselves that we may not have seen before.

Understanding and embodying the Wheel of Consent happens through a somatic experience – you feel it in your body. And with this, you will start to rewire old patterns around giving and receiving. You will feel clearer about expressing yourself and understanding others, enjoying more authentic connections with greater ease.

There will be options to exchange touch with other participants, but it is never required.

This 2-day workshop is about:

Understanding what Receiving and Giving really are, taking them apart and experiencing each
Understanding who is doing and who it is for – because they are different
Gaining skills of embodiment, empowerment and communication – noticing, valuing, and trusting what you want, having the courage to ask for it, and feeling safe enough to receive
Learning the framework of the Wheel of Consent and the four quadrants as a foundation for connection and relating
Making choices – learning how to choose for yourself
Becoming exquisitely aware of your desires and limits and how to communicate them
Redefining pleasure – connecting to what feels good and brings you joy in all aspects of life

This Workshop:

Is for anyone who is interested in learning more about themselves and improving the quality of their relationships – with intimate partners, friends, parents, children or colleagues
